Danielle Heller serves as the executive director for Peak Cultural Arts Organization, bringing 30+ years of experience in leadership, arts education and community building. She has a passion for the arts and believes that the arts nourish the inner self in all individuals, whether they participate as doers or as witnesses.
At the community level, Danielle is the owner and artistic director of Peak Academy of Dance, where she focuses on creating a safe, nourishing and inclusive space where dancers of all ages and all levels can find their inner artist and celebrate in community. At the state level, she has actively worked towards legislation to support dance educators and the dance industry, as well as, participated in numerous committees on state standards and dance education. (See Peak Academy of Dance Bio for specific information.)
Danielle has been dreaming of establishing PCAO for over 20 years and is grateful to see it finally coming to fruition. PCAO is empowered to bring arts organizations together for transformative collaborative experiences. PCAO will create unique programming and performance opportunities for the mountain community as well as, support creative areas that do not currently have a voice.
Danielle loves ALL the arts. Art is her heart language. Although her professional career has focused specifically on dance, she believes that the more creative exposure we can invite our community to participate in, the more potential we have to broaden the way people see and think about themselves and the world around them. This is the real gift of art.
Outside of work, she loves to dance with her husband, Travis, take walks with her Scottish Terrier, Oliver and travel with her family; Sarah, Sam, Marina, Gary, Dawn, Kathryn, Jason, Greyson, Brendan, Bill, Sue, Jessica, Violet, Jazzy and River. Continuing her own education is very important to her. She is currently enrolled as a dissertation student through Pacifica Graduate Institute and as a masters student for Transpersonal Counseling through Naropa University.
